After spending time discovering and listening to new concepts and sounds, I find DkA. After searching on the minimal category, I have been redirected with DKA. The first EP it call my senses was Anneessens EP, already released on a recognized label in Brussels, Brüxsel Jardin Records. If you are looking for something new and of course good, certainly is a must that you have to listen and enjoy this EP, which has a very original, smooth and refined sound.
For the second chapter of our musical story telling we welcome our very good friend and well known talent to the Brussels scene and beyond to our roster. DkA has been part of the family since the very start and as a studio partner of label co-owner Nathan Øye for their Kelket project it is only natural that our next opus comes from him. He offers us a 3 track Ep with some of his most charismatic work to date.
The techno infused title track Anneessens takes you on an endlessly evolving symbiosis between the pushing rhythmic part, kick / bass line interaction and an overwhelmingly wide melody arrangement. On the B side the story continues with Lost Track Of Time. Based on a similar structure than the first track it has a slightly darker side to it. It is only when the long heavy bass line kicks in after a few minutes that you realize this isn't you ordinary b side track. And finally as a cherry on the cake Fireworks closes of the Ep with loopy bass lines topped by a warm evolving brass play. Perfect to shift from warming up to the more serious business.
